What We Do...

Home Visits

Parenting is one of the most important jobs a person will ever do. Yet, being a parent can be a tough job. As a new parent, you create the foundation for your baby’s future. Research shows that what happens during the first three years of life can last a lifetime. Having your first child brings lots of changes. Every new parent has questions and can use some extra support. That is why Healthy Start~Healthy Family is here.

Healthy Start~Healthy Family is voluntary and free. Healthy Start~Healthy Family offers information to families on:

  • How babies grow, develop and learn.
  • How to care for your infant, including tips on feeding, sleep and safety.
  • How play helps babies learn.
  • How to keep your baby and yourself healthy.

And...

You will learn about how to connect with other services for you and your family.

Community Playgroups

Healthy Start~Healthy Family and the Clackamas County Early Childhood Committee offers free community playgroups throughout the county for parents with children ages 0-5. Playgroups provide opportunities for parents to learn from each other, share common experiences and concerns, develop lasting friendships and form new support networks. Classes and Workshops

FREE parenting classes and workshops are offered for parents and their children (prenatal to age five) who live in Clackamas County. A small group format is used, with flexible schedules, offering opportunities to meet with other new parents who share similar needs and concerns.

 

Car Seats

Car Seat

Healthy Start~Healthy Family and the Clackamas County Early Childhood Committee offer free car seat checks and new reduced cost car seats. Car seat checks are done on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s between 3 and 5pm.

Call us at 503-655-8234. When making an appointment, please provide the following information: the child’s name, height, weight, date of birth and age; the year, make and model of the vehicle that will be used; parent’s name and phone number.
